Ohm's law help us to give the relation between volt (V) and current (I).

Relation between Volt (V) and Current (I)

The potential difference across the ends of the given metallic wire is directly proportional to the current flowing through it, given it's temperature remains same.

To remove the proportionality, introduce a constant R.

V = I R ; R is the constant and is known as the resistance.

Resistance is the property of a conductor to resist the flow of charges through it
