Defects of Rutherford's model of an atom

In the previous post, we had seen about the Rutherford's scattering experiment. Today, lets see about it's defects.

Defects:

1. Rutherford had not mentioned the position of electron in the atom

2. No stability of the atom
Rutherford said that electrons revolve around the nucleus like earth revolves around the sun. However, electron is a charged species. So, when a charged species move under the influence of an attractive force, it continuously lose energy in form of radiation and end up in nucleus less than 10⁻⁸ seconds.
