Physics Behind Diwali
Diwali is festival of light, which bring joy and happiness which brightens the life. We do have lot of sweets, bursts crackers and have a lot of fun and lighten the diyas. Today lets mix the knowledge of science with enjoyment of festival to get bonus enthusiasm on this bright festival.
Rockets:
We enjoy leaving rockets in the sky during the festival. What is the principle behind this...? Don't worry lets deal with this one first. The energy provided by us in form of heat is converted into the kinetic energy completely, say it starts with Kinetic energy K, then as it moves up its velocity decreases making its Kinetic energy decreases and Potential energy increases...Finally at the highest point all its PE is converted to light and sound energy...Awesome right !!! Ok Come, we have a lot of fun..

Spinners (Chakras):
We have had fun with the Chakras spinning in the ground. The energy we provide is converted into Rotational Kinetic energy. Due to the friction present in the floor that occurs every where on the surface which touches the bottom of the floor. So, the kinetic energy is converted into heat energy by the action of friction and also light and sound energy.
Fireworks:
The different colored firework we see in the sky are due to the emission spectra. Different metals used in firework like sodium, potassium, Calcium, Barium produces yellow, pinkish violet, brick red, Greenish apple color
Conservation of Energy:
Through out the process of the Diwali, we conserve mass and energy
